All Souls Trilogy UK Paperback Tour - The Recap!

When we last left you on Tuesday, Deb Harkness had a fascinating “Imagined London” event with A Darker Shade of Magic author, VE Schwab.  The rest of the week continued to be a whirlwind tour for her.

Thanks to Caitlin Raynor and Vicky Palmer (dubbed by Deb as PR Spice and Marketing Spice) from Headline Publishing Group for keeping us in the thick of things as each stop's events unfolded.  Here’s a photo recap of her Waterstones visits:

Waterstones West Quay in Southampton and Waterstones in Basingstoke

Deb met readers and signed books for them.  Plenty of books were signed -- and there were some left --  currently available for purchase at Waterstones, West Quay!

On Thursday evening, lucky contest winners joined Deb for a Matthew Clairmont approved wine tasting in London!

There was a selection of wines and food served with tasting notes on the wine and the chance to speak to Deb in intimate surroundings about the bestselling All Souls Trilogy.

Deb had a stop planned at Waterstones in Windsor…

. . . but on the way, she and her Headline team stopped at a few places that any All Souls Trilogy reader is sure to recognize.

In the evening, Deb returned to Oxford where A Discovery of Witches famously began and talked about/answered questions on all things All Souls at Blackwell's Bookshop.

Here is a recap (thanks to Vicky Palmer and Caitlin Raynor) of some of the things Deb said (we left it in "Twitter-speak"--hopefully you'll be able to translate to English!):

- Matthew Roydon is a real historical character but you get to meet him first in A Discovery of Witches
- I got to tell you in fiction what I really thought was true about 1590' #ShadowofNight is brilliant bk 2 of #AllSoulsTrilogy
- Where in a house of 12 people in 1590 would you store 2500 books?' @DebHarkness on how she wrote scene of Dr Dee's library #AllSoulsTrilogy
- You're 17, your father has died, and you have just inherited a country. What would you do first?' Empathising with Henry VIII
- If I could go back and change anything, I would not have written from Diana's POV says @DebHarkness #allsoulstrilogy
- People still ask me how many books there are in #AllSoulsTrilogy' @DebHarkness. Hint: It starts with A Discovery of Witches, then 2 more...
- I try very hard not to disagree with Einstein @DebHarkness on perils on writing science into her #AllSoulsTrilogy novels

And in case you couldn’t be in Oxford, you can still read about some of the places that were featured in the All Souls Trilogy in Waterstones’ feature “The Oxford inspiration behind the All Souls Trilogy.”

They also are selling an exclusive to the Waterstones edition of The Book of Life.  Deborah Harkness has written a guide to the locations that inspired her All Souls Trilogy. In the link we included above (also here!) is a short extract from the guide itself.

So with that tour behind us, we are looking forward to the US tour starting in May!  We'll leave you with this from Deb's Instagram:

"A lovely glass of wine to mark my last night in England!"
